Girls' Devos January 21

So, last night, I went to a public Christian retreat at a local camp.
This morning, we woke up at 7. At around 7:45, one of my best friends (who was one of the girls' dorm chaperons) gave a devotional from Proverbs 31 to me, my sister, and two of our friends. It really spoke to my heart.
She talked about how rare a truly virtuous woman is; she's rarer than the rarest gem of all: the ruby. She talked about how the virtuous woman is trustworthy to everybody, she's not afraid of hard work, she thinks of others before herself, and she doesn't want her family to be in want of anything. The way my friend worded it, it was so easy to understand and it literally almost made me cry.
Then she went on to talk about how important it is to wait for the right guy to come into your life; how your heart should be held by your father until the right guy comes along; and how if a guy isn't willing to go by God's, your father's, and your standards for dating and such, he probably isn't the right one. (This is one reason why any guy that wants to date me has to ask my father first.)
The lessons she taught just really spoke to my heart. And if you ever read this, Randee, I want to say thank you for what you said; it really touched me!

  1. How cool! YOU phrased it more simply, too, than I had ever read it before.
